Book Review: WALK THROUGH FIRE by Kristen Ashley

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: 27 October 2015

Millie Cross knows what it's like to burn for someone. She was young and wild and she was fierce and even wilder-a Chaos biker who made her heart pound. They fell in love at first sight and life was good, until she learned she couldn't be the woman he needed and made it so he had no choice but to walk away. Twenty years later, Millie's chance run-in with her old flame sparks a desire she just can't ignore. And this time, she won't let him ride off . . .

Bad boy Logan "High" Judd has seen his share of troubles with the law. Yet it was a beautiful woman who broke him. After ending a loveless marriage, High is shocked when his true love walks back into his life. Millie is still gorgeous, but she's just a ghost of her former self. High's intrigued at the change, but her betrayal cut him deep-and he doesn't want to get burned again. As High sinks into meting out vengeance for Millie's betrayal, he'll break all over again when he realizes just how Millie walked through fire for her man . . .

Walk Through Fire was another outstanding story by Kristen Ashley. I loved everything about it from the hate/love romance at the beginning to the touching story that was hidden underneath. It was just a fabulous biker romance that was hot, romantic, badass, heartfelt, and so much fun.

This is the fourth standalone in the Chaos series and it tells the story of Logan "High" Judd and Millie Cross. Their story is an emotional second chance romance which begins when they first meet and fall in love at first sight. Since that moment they were inseparable and their lives fit so perfectly. Millie as the caring old lady of a badass biker and High as the wonderful supported of her dreams. The two of them had everything planned for the future and couldn't wait to start their lives together. However, it is life that takes a different turn forcing them to let go of the truest love of their lives.

"Attached to Logan, I'd go anywhere. Even if we were walking through fire."

Twenty-three years have come and gone yet life hasn't been the same for these two. Despair, resentment, and emptiness has been all they've known but when they get reunited again, it's resentment they immediately feel. Well, and intense passion too of course. That's right, Millie and High embark into a hate/love affair where they can't control the fire between them but at the same time neither of them can't forget or forgive the past. . .

"This isn't done, we both know it and I'm guessin' from this irritatin' conversation we got no choice but to ride whatever the fuck this is out, but it's me who's gotta do it hopin' you don't rip me up in the process."

I absolutely loved the flow of this story. How it captivated me first with passion and mystery to later compelling me with so many heartfelt emotions. Also, it was amazing how I didn't see things coming making the surprises that much more wonderful and poignant. But my favorite thing about this story has to be the chemistry between the characters. Really, Millie and High's chemistry was irresistible, stunning, and so deeply strong that there wasn't moment I didn't feel like their love was the truest love ever.

"Twenty years apart, haunted by you, walkin' around with a hole in my soul."

As always with her books, I got to experience the amazing brotherhood and sisterhood that only this author can create. Those moments with Chaos and the old ladies were really priceless making this story that much more beautiful. I loved this book, it sure is another of KA's masterpieces and of course one not to be missed! ♥
