Book Review: THIRD DEBT by Pepper Winters

Genre: Dark Romance
Publication Date: 16 April 2015

SYNOPSIS

“She healed me. She broke me. I set her free. But we are in this together. We will end this together. The rules of this ancient game can’t be broken.”

Nila Weaver no longer recognises herself. She’s left her lover, her courage, and her promise. Two debts down. Too many to go.

Jethro Hawk no longer recognises himself. He’s embraced what he always ran from, and now faces punishment far greater than he feared.

It’s almost time. It’s demanding to be paid.

The Third Debt will be the ultimate test...

REVIEW

5+ STARS: EMPOWERING LOVE!

It's truly amazing to me the talent of this author. Since book one in this Indebted series I felt this story was going to be something to behold but now after this book I can totally say what an understatement that was. After four books with the same characters Ms. Winters continues to engage me, truly captivate me, and surprise me with how she can manipulate a story and keep making it more brilliant. So brilliant that there's never been a dull moment in this series for me, oh no, there's always been something remarkable with each book and that something this time with Third Debt was the empowering love

“Death had tried to claim me only for love to save me instead.”

In this fourth installment the plot is at its peak. Emotions, regrets, and fears are all over the place and these two passionate characters just keep trying to assimilate their torturous fucked-up reality and finally accept the truth. That is, the truth about their intense feelings for each other and how they no longer can suppress them. It's until then that their love really becomes that empowering love the two of them so desperately needed and the way that finally happens is truly breathtaking.

“I don’t want to win or lose anymore. I just want you.”

I found this book perfect. It gave me the romance I so much crave for, kept me in such suspense, and the development/growth of the characters made me love them even more. Oh yes, I can't say it enough, Nila Weaver is a magnificent heroine. This woman continues to amaze me with her strength/courage and captivate me with her unconditional love for Jethro. She's just incredible and with every book she becomes more and more a powerful and unforgettable character to me. Now, Jethro's evolution hasn't been as straightforward as Nila's, no, his been more complex and I've loved it. There's so many layers to what makes him the character that he is that his transformation couldn't be easy but the results have truly been mind-blowing particularly in this book.

“I wished she would stay away. Her concern might be a blanket, but her love… Shit, her love was a blade slicing me into pieces.”

I adore these characters both individually and together. Oh together, these two set the book on fire. Their passion and longing for each other was so consuming and exquisite that I felt it all from beginning to end. Loved this book, Third Debt is yet another favorite for me in this series. So GOOD!
