Book Review: BROKEN JULIET by Leisa Rayven

Genre: New Adult
Publication Date: 28 April 2015

How do you fix a love that’s been broken beyond repair?

For years, Cassie Taylor tried to forget about Ethan Holt. He was the one great love of her life, and when he failed to return her love, a part of her died forever. Or so she thought. Now she and Ethan are sharing a Broadway stage, and he’s determined to win her back. Claiming to be a changed man, he’s finally able to say all the things she needed to hear years ago, but can she believe him? What makes this time different from all his other broken promises?

Ethan knows he can’t change their tumultuous past, but if he’s going to have any chance of being with the woman he loves, he’ll need to convince Cassie that her future belongs with him.

Don’t miss this stunning conclusion to the unforgettable love story that captivated over two million fans online.

What a perfect conclusion to a remarkable love story, I LOVED IT! When I first met Cassie and Ethan in Bad Romeo they completely stole my heart with their passion, electricity, and even the explosive ways they needed each other. That first book really made me feel their connection at its highest level with all that glorious tension they brought with them every single time. But that first book also taught me that their love wasn't at all perfect, that it was actually broken in so many ways and in order to repair it, these characters would have to fight their hardest battle yet. And that's exactly what they do in Broken Juliet, both Cassie and Ethan fight to revive that powerful connection that is so unique and precious to their love because yes, they already love each other immensely but what's love without trust?

If he were to fail this time, there’d be nothing left of me.

This book was beautiful and intense but in a different way than the first one. Here I felt the burden and despair from the characters more deeply in my heart as I finally got to understand the weight of their regrets. Yes, so much has happened and so much would have to change for them to move forward but a the same time there is that fear for that unanswered question: Is it too late? Well, that's something Cassie and Ethan slowly discover and even though they hurt in the process, for them it's absolutely worth it. ♥ There was not a doubt in my mind that this couple was meant to be together since the very beginning and seeing them get to that ultimate point was truly a beautiful and unforgettable experience that had me crying, excited, anxious, but always hopeful for them and their captivating love story.

For so long, I’ve tainted my vision against him. Closed my eyes to his beauty and my ears to his charm. But my heart … I tried to harden it against the things I didn’t want to feel, and yet, here I am, feeling them anyway.

Even in the turmoil of emotions transpiring in this book, these characters managed to stay amazing to me. My sweet Cassie in particular was incredible, always strong and so truthful with her feelings even when they hurt so much. Her strength and hopeful heart really touched me in a way that I found myself constantly wishing for her happiness because no one else deserved it more than her. I think I identified a lot with her because she was a true hopeless-romantic, someone who can't negate her feelings no matter what, someone that would rather hurt and love than save her pride for nothing. That was Cassie and she was a total sweetheart.

Now my Ethan, he fascinated me more this time around for sure. He was still the irresistible bad boy and the in-your-face-blunt-kind-of-guy I met in Bad Romeo but for this final book, he brought a new sense of vulnerability and fear to his character that felt new and extremely poignant. This is a man well aware of his faults and shortcomings yet his constant struggle is finding a way to fix himself. For that alone, I loved him even more because not even once I felt like his actions were a reflection of his heart. He is just the perfect portrait of a human character who was dealt a very difficult past but had a beautiful heart inside and Cassie knew that more than anybody else.

The thing is, if people were books, Ethan would be a bestseller. A sexy, intelligent, page-turner you’d find hard to put down, even after it reduced you to a sobbing mess.

I don't think I'll ever forget Cassie and Ethan's story; it was too addictive, emotionally absorbing, uniquely beautiful, and super fun. Oh yes, these books had some of the best humor ever with Ethan's sarcasm/bluntness, Cassie's naiveness, and both of their flirting all put together I found myself laughing and giggling constantly. They were just awesome and their story for sure is unforgettable and a must-read. So if you enjoy sexy bad boys, a unique-intense kind of romance, and vivid characters that will take you on a roller-coaster of emotions you need to get these beautiful books. ;)

From the moment I met you, it was only ever going to be you.”
