He's amazingly wealthy, sinfully gorgeous, and can bring her to heights of pleasure she's never before known. For Livy, there's no turning back. She's determined to be the light in Miller Hart's dark world. Yet this new life comes with a steep price...

Miller knows that the power he possesses hasn't come without sacrifices-but he won't let Livy be one of them. Though he wants nothing more than to have her in every way, his first duty is to protect her at all costs...from his sins, his enemies, and especially himself.

But as their insatiable affair intensifies, the two attract the attention of an obsessive-and dangerous-third party. Discovering new revelations about Miller that rock her to the core, Livy will have to decide whether he's ruined beyond repair. And he must face his fear that in order to save her, he may have to lose her after all...

I'm so happy to have finally read this book, the wait was long but so worth it! This is the second book in the One Night Trilogy and in Promised, book one, the story left wanting so much more of Livy and Miller so reading Denied felt like heaven for me. That first book made me fall in love with the characters' hesitations and their building desire but this book made me love them for their desperate need and unconditional passion and love for each other. A love that is now being denied to them.

“I need you to be strong for me.”

Denied starts right where Promised ended, a turmoil of emotions for these two characters. Livy is heartbroken, confused, and in desperate need for answers. Her feelings for Miller are still there, stronger than ever, but some recent revelations have changed everything. Now she doesn't know if they could ever be together because of his dark world. Yet the idea of not having Miller Hart in her life any more is too devastating for Livy so she struggles between what she really wants and what she should do.

I’m a mess of conflicting thoughts, struggling to figure out if Miller is my destiny.

Miller on the other hand is in no way ready to give up his sweet girl. He knows he's no good for her and that being together might put her in serious danger but he just cannot be without her. She has become his everything, his most precious possession, his light in the darkness, his ultimate freedom. So with all that in mind, Miller is relentless in getting his Livy back and show her why they're so meant to be.

“We were made to fit together. We fit perfectly together. You must feel it, Olivia.”

This book goes back and forth between Livy and Miller fighting against the many obstacles that want to keep them apart. There is constant interference from different people which puts doubts in their minds even though they're dying to stay together. I found this second book so much more emotional and heart-gripping than the the first one because I got to see a new side from both characters. I knew Livy to be mostly shy and reserved but know in Denied after coming into the realization of what she really wants, she becomes this strong woman fighting for her man. A broken man she doesn't completely understand but loves unconditionally anyway. The things she slowly learns about him should be deterrents but for her they are just more reasons to keep wanting to save him.

We can do this. As long as we have each other, we can battle through the challenges before us.

Now Miller Hart has done exactly what I expected him to do, he has stole my heart! This man was incredible, he opens up to Livy in such profound and romantic ways that took my breath away. He was closed off before and he still is but now his fear of losing Livy has made him show her his true feelings for her. Every word he poured out to her was beautiful and so emotional evoking that my heart just melted for him every time. His main struggle in this book is needing Livy like he needs air but not being free to be with her in the way they supposed to be. So he decides to go against the strong wind to try to keep his sweet gorgeous girl.

You are my possession, Olivia. You’re my habit, and I’m not going down without a fight.

Livy and Miller don't have it easy in this second book but what keeps the story going is that genuine and desperate need they have for each other. When things got tough one of them would remind the other that they can fight it all and that there's still hope for them as long as they stay together. I found those moments really mesmerizing as they showed just how deeply in love these characters are with one another. So as trial after trial comes their way, Livy and Miller try to stay strong for as long as they can possibly can. . .

“I love your bones, Miller Hart.”

“I beg you to love me forever.”

I loved this book! It kept me absorbed into the story from beginning to end with all its conflicts, mystery, and the scorching passion between the characters. Once again I was enchanted by Livy and Miller's chemistry; when together they just ignited my iPad and made me see fireworks all over and I loved every minute of it. That's one of the many things this author does wonderfully in her stories and this time it showed beautifully. Additionally, this book maintained the fun vibe that the first book brought up and that made me very happy. Livy's Nan was there again to make me laugh with her remarkable occurrences and there were also moments of pure fun and sweetness between Livy and Miller that I really enjoyed. Now about the ending, since this is a trilogy you have to kind of expect cliffhangers and this book ended on one. However, it wasn't anything readers wouldn't survive I felt so don't fear reading this book. I personally thought the ending just left me excited to read the next book and finally get the answers to all the pieces of to this big and amazing puzzle of a story.

“Forget the world outside and be with me forever.”

Just another outstanding book by this author. I can't wait to read Unveiled in February and lose myself one last time in the beautiful story of Livy and Miller. So yes, this book is a total must read from me! ;)
