Spotlight: LUKE YOUNG - Interview & Giveaways

Luke Young
Author of the Friends with.. Benefits series

Here's an author I discovered at the DC Author Event, Luke Young! I love reading romantic comedies so I was very happy to learn that's Luke's speciality. If you haven't read any of Luke's books now it's your chance! He generously offered his complete ebook series Friends with...Benefits for a giveaway here on the blog!! That's six ebooks for one lucky winner! Watch a short film of Luke's book Friends with Partial Benefits here! It's really funny and sexy! ;)
Here are Luke's answers for the interview:

#1 - As readers we get very attached to characters so it’s sad when we finish their stories. Now, I can imagine that for a writer it is even harder to finish writing a story knowing that’s the end for the characters. How do you transition from finishing a novel/series to starting a new one?

Luke said he doesn't experience any transition so he doesn't have any trouble finishing his stories. He said if he ever felt like missing his characters he could always bring them back in a new book if he wanted to.

#2 - One popular component in romance books is sex scenes so I wonder… When writing, how do you decide how much sex to put in your stories? Or do you mostly follow your genre (YA, NA, Erotic Romance, Erotica, etc.)?

Luke follows his genre depending on the project his working on. He has no problem in writing sex scenes if they work for the story and the characters.

#3 - Do you consider yourself a romance genre writer or a writer who uses love stories to explore a wide range of themes?

Luke considers himself a comedy writer who uses elements of romance in his stories.

More About Luke:
Luke Young is the Kindle-bestselling author of the Friends With Benefits series.

Young’s Friends With Benefits novels are filled with passion, longing, comedy, and, yes, sex. His relationship comedies feature strong, sexy female characters — women who seize every opportunity for fun and don’t let a little thing like age stand in the way of love or desire. In each book Young sets different wheels in motion, applying his comedic touch and pitch-perfect ear for playful couples’ banter. The result is warm, funny, sexy storytelling at its best.

Young got his start writing screenplays, which earned the praise of contest judges while never quite making it to the “green light.” He adapted his second screenplay into a novel and found himself hooked on the new form. Since then, he’s released five novels, one novella, and one short story.

Young’s prolific nature is a gift to fans across the globe who have enthusiastically embraced the Friends With Benefits series. This fan support has driven the books up the Kindle bestseller lists. If you enjoy romance, sex, and unexpected hilarity, you will love Young’s books.

You can sample and buy Luke Young’s books on Amazon, friend him on Facebook, follow him on Twitter, connect on GoodReads, or contact him directly.

Young also writes “spicier” books under the pen name Ian Dalton. If you like your sexy comedy heavy on the sexy, be sure to check out Dalton’s Victoria Wilde series. If you’re not sure, find out more

Marriage can be a real pain in the ass; especially when your wife is a sociopath, who's either trying to kill you, frame you for her disappearance or maybe even both. Supported by his sister whose own behavior is inappropriate at best, a pair of lunatic detectives and in-laws with questionable motives, Rick Dunce tries to navigate the tricky waters of exactly how one should act when the woman he absolutely can’t stand disappears without a trace.

If this Husband-of-the-Year is truly responsible, did he act in self-defense or did one too many bizarre quiz questions or inane treasure hunt clues finally push him over the edge? Whether Winnie is missing, dead or just hiding out, the only thing that's certain is she's so far gone that it's not even funny— except that it is.

A parody of, Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn's acclaimed and runaway bestselling masterpiece, So Far Gone, Girl— will leave you doubled over with laughter, gasping for breath and checking to see if your own ottoman can really balance on its side like that!
