Book Review: SWEET FILTHY BOY by Christina Lauren

Genre: New Adult Contemporary
Publication Date: May 13, 2014

One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

I've been wanting to read a Christina Lauren book for a long time and I'm so glad I finally did! I really enjoyed this book; it was sweet, hilarious, adventurous, and sexy-hot. And the way the romance unfolded made the story standout for originality making it very refreshing for me.

In this story we have Mia, a shy sweet girl who seems to have her future figured out in the only way she thinks her future could go. However, deep inside she wishes thinks were different. It's one night out with her girls in Vegas celebrating their graduation that everything changes for her. She meets Ansel, a sexy as hell French guy that she cannot resist. Something about him makes Mia brave, flirty, and adventurous like she never thought she could be. So it's the connection they find in each other that leads them to an unforgettable one-night stand that later turns out into a trip to France for the summer. . . How adventurous is that, right?!

And indeed it becomes an adventure for Mia. A new country, a new language, and an exciting man and fling. But as unattached Mia thinks she should stay from Ansel and this experience, the harder it gets for her to not feel things. The fun and the pretend slowly start to feel real and the idea of letting go of those new emotions become Mia's new challenge.

Ansel is exactly what the title says, a Sweet Filthy Boy. He is incredibly hot and the fact that he is French makes him even hotter. He's a very passionate man too and it showed in several yummy-steamy moments that would have you fanning yourself. Another side of him that I loved was his playful and funny personality as he made me laugh a lot with his occurrences and humor. Basically Ansel seemed like the complete package for Mia right until some secrets get revealed and the whole situation gets even more complicated between them.

This was really a fun read and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a story with low drama and filled lots of humor, sexiness, and adventure. It's the perfect story to read to make yourself feel happy and remind you that love can happen when you least expected! ;)
