Book Review: DRIVEN by K. Bromberg

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: May 2013

SYNOPSIS

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

REVIEW

5 ADDICTIVE SEDUCTION STARS!

What a HOT ride this book was!! Omg, why didn't I read it sooner?! It was so breathtakingly sexy!

This is a story about a very intense connection and a very complicated relationship. Rylee Thomas is a woman with a heartbreaking past and a well organized life. She never finds herself in need of taking risks because she feels in control of her life for the most part. That completely changes when she meets Colton Donavan.

Colton is an irresistible man and there's no way Rylee can scape him even when she tries. His confidence and bad boy personality always get him what he wants and when he meets Rylee he instantly knows he wants her.

The attraction and chemistry between them is undeniable and fire burning but Rylee is not sure what Colton is really after. She battles between taking a risk and let herself really experience desires she didn't know she had or be safe and stay away from a man that could possibly break her heart. But how can she resist Colton's allure and seduction?

As things unfold, Rylee starts to discover that behind the powerful, goodhearted, and charming play boy there's a broken man with a lot of dark secrets. Secrets that prevent him from giving himself to Rylee in the only way she needs him. Would passion be enough to keep them together or would their pasts be the ultimate obstacle for any possible future?

Omg, Colton might be the most skilled panty-dropper I have ever read about! His swagger and sexiness are really out of this world. He has such an intensity about him and it showed every time he was with Rylee. He also has this soft and super funny side which was heart-melting too. He totally has all the charms so it was impossible not to fall for him. But as perfect as he is, he's also mysteriously broken which I found very intriguing... This first book doesn't answer many questions about him but it does a fine job in introducing him and making me fall in love with the story and characters.♥

I loved Rylee! I really liked her strong personality and even with a man like Colton she was not a submissive and/or timid heroine. Yes, she's vulnerable when it comes to emotions and feelings but when times required her to be strong and decide what was best for her she took a stand and I admired her for that. But I love her even more for actually taking a leap of faith on Colton because from the ending (a cliffhanger!) I can sense heartbreak in her future and I think I'm going to love her more yet for what she's going to mean to him and his story. I can't wait to start Fueled and find out what happens next in this captivating story! :D

I totally recommend Driven; it was intense, provocative, and charming. And if you enjoy complicated  and sexy as hell heroes this trilogy it's definitely for you! ;)
